Abstract
Practitioners begin the clinical reasoning process when a person is initially referred for services. Following The Occupational Therapy Practice Framework, practitioners make strategic decisions about the types and frequency of evaluations necessary to learn about the person’s unique story and possible challenges to goal attainment. This chapter explains how the practice framework influences practitioners’ selection of occupational profiles and analysis of performance types of evaluations to understand a person’s life story and potential client factors and/or performance skills that may impact occupational performance. The MMCR provides a framework to guide practitioners through the evaluation process, leading to eventual intervention plans.
