Abstract
This paper presents a brief survey of the studies of early vertebrate fossils from China (mainly agnathans, placoderms and lobe-finned fishes from the Silurian and Devonian periods). Distribution and major features of significant forms in each group have been summarized and problems of morphological interpretation and phylogenetic relationships are discussed. -from Authors
