Abstract

A protocol has been developed which can work on top of existing off-the-shelf wireless sensor node hardware components. This protocol is scalable and adaptable, providing support for applications development. As a prototype, it has been used as part of a wireless environmental monitoring network. Testing is underway and complete performance, reliability, and scalability results are expected in the near future.
