Abstract

In order to meet the mining rescue requirement for setting up a wireless telecommunications system quickly, a video transmission system is presented based on cross-layer multi-hop wireless networks. A cross-layer design method has been used in this system that combines the application layer, transport layer and data link layer to determine the congestion degree of the wireless multi-hop networks quickly and accurately. Therefore the system can adjust the transmission rate of the wireless node and the video transmission rate of the robot (source) node real-timely in order to lessen congestion and improve the quality of video transmission. Experimental results showed that the algorithm achieved the goals.
